How to use the Resize Drawing Sheets

Resize PDF drawing sheets between A0, A1, A2, A3, A4, ARCH and ANSI sizes, such as A1 to A3 for a review set, while keeping the drawing vector and telling you the new scale.

  1. Open the PDF.
  2. Choose the target sheet size, or a custom size.
  3. Choose how it fits: scale the drawing to the sheet, scale by a fixed percentage, or keep the drawing size and change only the sheet.
  4. Set the original drawing scale to see the new scale, then download the resized PDF.

Worked example

Resizing an A1 sheet at 1:100 to A3 scales it by about 50%, so the drawing becomes 1:200. The tool works this out for you so you can update the scale note or scale bar.

Good to know

  • Resizing keeps lines and text as vectors, unlike printing to a PDF printer.
  • Small text on A1 drawings may be hard to read on A3; check the smallest notes.
  • Print at 100% (actual size) so the new scale is accurate on paper.

Questions

What scale is an A1 drawing printed on A3?

Half the original: 1:100 on A1 becomes 1:200 on A3, because each ISO sheet size is half the one before.

Do drawings stay as vectors?

Yes. Pages are scaled, not converted to images, so lines and text stay sharp.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser on your own computer. Files are never sent to Aakaar or anywhere else, and they are deleted when you leave the page.
